Monthly Community Update from Sgt Smith - December 2025 |
||
|
Dear
I hope this message finds you well. As we move through to December, I wanted to share a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our local area, what’s coming up, and how we’re working together to keep our community safe and thriving.
Local Priorities Our current focus areas include: Anti-social behaviour hotspots around Willenhall Town centre. Off road bikes Retail crime across the borough of Willenhall
We’re continuing patrols and targeted operations in these areas, and welcome any feedback or concerns you’d like to raise. In relation to the ASB, officers have engaged with youths across the area and warning letters have been sent out to the youths where officers conducted joint visits with the local housing where these warning letters were given. the warning letters do indicate that should this behaviour continue then this can effect their tenancy agreement. In relation to off bikes, we have conducted an operation with traffic in order to deter this within the area with successful stops and seizures of the off road bikes. We have also been working in junction with the local council where notice seeking possession orders have been issued. In relation to retail crime, we continue to arrest suspects and place them before the courts where criminal behaviour orders have been issued to deter this behaviour. We continue to try and support our local businesses by providing reassurance and support.
Partnership Working We’ve been working closely with: We have been working with Walsall council, community protection teams to tackle the ongoing ASB around the town centre. Officers also working with local schools, completing local surgeries to meet the public and address their concerns. Officers have also conducted operations with trading standards where there has been successful seizures of unlawful vapes and counterfeit cigarettes. We have also works alongside engage youth empowerment services EYES who have been patrolling the town centre and engaging with the youths.
These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs.
Community Involvement Thank you to everyone who’s taken part in: – Officers continue to patrol Willenhall with community street watch groups/Surgeries There has been a number of Police surgeries conducted throughout Willenhall including a PACT meeting to discuss the local issues and priorities which affect local residents.
